Acreage Reporting
April 10 - July 10
On a field by field basis:
Crop planted
Initial planting date
Number of acres planted by crop
Techinically, July 15 BUT I always say July 10 so we have some wiggle room. Life happens & things get forgotten.
It's important to report acres as soon as you're able because:
Claims aren't worked until acres are reported.
We're all human & mistakes happen! Earlier reporting gives us time to correct any errors that might be discovered at acreage reporting.
You don't have to use 578s to report acres! Crop insurance is coverage based on the actual acres planted in a field. You will only get paid for the actual planted acres in the field.
If you want to use 578s to report acres: you can ask your FSA office to email them directly to Katie (katie.ausdemore@gmail.com)
ABSOLUTELY! Please see this PDF for complete details or give us a call.
If you would like to use precision to work claims as well as report acres, you must have all of the following
GPS technology with planter monitors, combine monitors & yield mapping software
Planting & harvesting summary report
Calibrations per manufacturer's specs
Never hesitate to reach out to ask Katie or Ben for assistance with your acreage reports or any other crop insurance step!
